Canada Goose X Concepts - Alberta Vest

Canada and Massachusetts’ Concepts recently worked together to create these two colorways (Red / Military Olive & Red / Tan) of the Alberta Vest. Concepts modified the original Alberta vest by adding an Arctic-Tech waterproof shell with 625 fill power white duck down. The vest also includes a removable hood with fleece lined pockets. A release is slated for November 19th, 2010 at Concepts. Not sure how these will look in person since they appear to be pretty bulky, but I hope the fit is good and that we see them somewhere in Alberta. Great to see all these collabs with Canada Goose, I expect to see many more in the months ahead. Check out October's Very Own collab with Canada Goose on the Chilliwack jacket here if you have not yet.

Canada Goose Winter 2010/2011

If you are looking for a new winter jacket this for this year look no further than Canada Goose. With their cuts and quality being second to none, Canada Goose has done it big this Winter by adding several new jackets as well as many new colours to some of their classic models. Head over to their website to peep the entire collection and to find the closest retailer to you!

Banff Parka
When you need a high performance parka that will see you through an outdoor adventure, but you also want a coat that will be comfortable as you walk to work each day, you choose the Banff Parka. Featuring ribbed storm cuffs, an adjustable, removable tunnel hood with coyote fur ruff for warmth, a classic slim fitting style, smart leather detailing and embossed Canada Goose buttons on its military style pockets, this parka hits all the right notes. Thigh-length to maximize protection, the Banff parka is the perfect outerwear solution that answers all of your needs.

Expedition Parka
Canada Goose takes pride in creating authentic gear to help real people living in extreme conditions battle the elements. Originally developed for scientists working in research facilities at McMurdo station in Antarctica, the Canada Goose Expedition Parka allows its wearers to withstand the most frigid temperatures. Not only is it durable and well insulated, with 625 fill power white duck down, but its iconic design also features a highly functional collection of external pockets, perfect for easy gear storage and hand-warming.

Chilliwack Bomber
The Chilliwack Bomber was developed as a nod to the styling and needs of post war bush pilots in Canada’s north. At a time and in places where pilots performed their own aircraft maintenance on desolate, wind-blown Arctic runways, durability, warmth and mobility were vital if not at times, life saving. The iconic coyote fur ruff that surrounds the hood of the Chilliwack bomber ensured they wouldn’t be frostbitten while working on their crafts and the premium Canadian down insulation took care of maintaining core temperatures. The success of this iconic Canada Goose jacket is evidenced by the fact that Canada Goose jackets are still worn by northern pilots today and can be seen on TV shows like Ice Pilots.

Freestyle Vest
When the weather’s not cold enough for your Canada Goose Parka, but the breeze is still cool, you need the classic Freestyle Vest. Insulated with 625 fill power white duck down and cut longer in the back for more coverage, this versatile vest is the perfect solution for a crisp fall evening, a mild winter afternoon or that first morning of spring. Available in a range of colours, the Freestyle Vest has a wealth of pockets including two large and two small drop-in exterior pockets, one interior security pocket and two fleece-lined hand warmer pockets.

Roots Fall/Winter 2010

One of the things that bugs me the most about Canadians is that we do not support the great things that come out of our country. We are quick to say that the states has so much more and that we are always behind. Yet when some Canadian does something great, we hate on it. I don't get it: Canadians love to hate Canadians. Yesterday, I visited the new Roots shop on Whyte Ave and it blew me away. Without a doubt one of my top five favourite stores I've seen in the world...and it's in our backyard. Roots has always been a great brand that produces quality goods and the world is taking notice with boutiques like Colette in Paris stocking up. Canada's very first platinum recording artist on both sides of the 49th, Drake, has been seen wearing his roots jacket in his latest video miss me. Look out for a full collab between the two in the upcoming months. In the mean time check out all these awesome Roots creations...
