The Ruins of Detroit

Bank Vault

Broderick Tower

Michigan Central Station

Lee Plaza Hotel Ballroom

Lee Plaza Hotel

Since the 1950s Detroit has gone from America's 4th populated city to the looks of a zombie attacked town. Photographers Yves Marchand and Romain Meffre have since captured this decline in their book, The Ruins of Detroit . I cannot help but think of all the stories these decrepit buildings and structures have to tell. You can find the 200 page book online now or in local book stores soon for a price of $125.

This reminds me of the stories I was told from the guys at Cheng Concrete. A good chunk of them are from detroit and they would tell tales of exploring ruins. Even to the point of kayaking down underground tunnels filled with water. Sounds creepy and awesome all at once. When will they film a zombie movie in Detroit?
